Tottenham Hotspur host Brighton & Hove Albion at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the race for European qualification.
Victory would see Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs climb to fourth, whilst Brighton can go sixth with a win.
Team News
Yves Bissouma and Son Heung Min are set to return for Tottenham following their arrivals back at the club, after Mali and South Korea exited Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively in the past week.
Giovani Lo Celso (hamstring) could return but Manor Solomon (knee) and Ryan Sessegnon (knock) remain ruled out.
Brighton could welcome Kaoru Mitoma back into contention following his return from international duty for Japan.
James Milner (thigh), Simon Adingra (international duty), Joel Veltman, Solly March and Julio Enciso (all knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Brighton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 10 February at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have won three of their last five league meetings against Brighton (W3, L2).
- Brighton have won one of their six previous Premier League visits to Tottenham (W1, L5).
- Spurs have won three of their last four league games at home against Brighton by 2-1 result, except for 1-0 loss in April 2022.
- Richarlison has scored five goals in Tottenham’s last four home games (W4), although Spurs failed to keep a clean sheet in those four matches.
- Brighton are winless in their last five away matches in the Premier League (D2, L3).
Prediction
Despite Richarlison’s form with a brace in their 2-2 draw at Everton, Tottenham had a match of two halves because they were excellent in the first half yet wasted chances to kill the game off in the second half, whilst their sloppy set-piece defending were punished twice.
Brighton meanwhile bounced back impressively from their embarrassing loss at Luton with a clinical yet well-managed win over Crystal Palace, in which they were clinical and had a proper energy to their attack which they need to bring here.
Now if Tottenham can tighten up their set-piece defending and play clinically then I fancy them to take the win, but Brighton are a tough team to predict given their form and leaky defence so I wouldn’t be surprised if Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls somehow snatch a draw.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Brighton
Result: Tottenham 2-1 Brighton
