Tottenham missed a chance to boost their hopes of a top-four finish with a shock home defeat against Brighton, as Leandro Trossard fired in a clinical 90th minute winner for the Seagulls.

Jan Bednarek’s 44th minute strike from a poorly cleared corner saw Southampton stun Arsenal at St Mary’s Stadium, which put a dent into the Gunners’ top-four ambitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick saw Manchester United survive a huge fightback to defeat rock-bottom Norwich 3-2 in a cracking thriller at Old Trafford, as goals from Kieran Dowell and Teemu Pukki saw the Canaries recover from 2-0 down until Ronaldo struck a 76th minute winner.

West Ham slipped to seventh as Tomas Soucek’s 74th minute effort rescued the Hammers a 1-1 draw against third-bottom Burnley who had led through Wout Weghorst’s opener, just moments after the Clarets’ Ashley Westwood had suffered a serious ankle injury.

Bruno Guimaraes’ brace saw Newcastle come from behind to shock Leicester 2-1 at St James’ Park, after the Foxes had led through Ademola Lookman’s 19th minute opener.

Pontus Jansson’s injury-time header saw Brentford snatch a nervy 2-1 victory away at second-bottom Watford, after Christian Norgaard’s 15th minute opener had been cancelled out by a 55th minute equaliser from the Hornets’ Emmanuel Dennis.

Riyad Mahrez provided a goal and assist as Manchester City stay top of the table following a 3-0 home win over Brighton, with Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva both also finding the net.

Liverpool remain a point behind in second after thrashing Man Utd 4-0 at Anfield as Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all provided goals and assists, with Salah netting twice as his 85th minute strike completed victory.

Bukayo Saka’s injury-time penalty saw fifth-placed Arsenal stun third-placed Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge, after Eddie Nketiah’s brace and Emile Smith Rowe’s goal had put the Gunners in control, despite a first-half fightback from Thomas Tuchel’s Blues as Timo Werner and Cesar Azpilicueta twice cut their deficit.

Richarlison’s close-range strike rescued Everton a scrappy 1-1 draw at home to Leicester to keep Frank Lampard’s Toffees just above the relegation zone, after having conceded a fifth minute-opener as Harvey Barnes turned in from James Maddison’s cross.

First-half goals from Connor Roberts and Nathan Collins saw Burnley move to within one point of safety following a 2-0 win over Southampton at Turf Moor.

Finally, Miguel Almiron scored his first goal at St James’ Park in 14 months as his 32nd minute strike proved enough for Newcastle to defeat Crystal Palace by a single goal.
