2023-24 Sky Bet Championship: Week 29 – Leicester vs Swansea

Leicester City entertain Swansea City at the King Power Stadium in a Championship clash.

Victory would see league leaders, Leicester extend their title lead to ten points, whilst Swansea can move up to 15th with a win.

Patson Daka is set to return for Leicester following Zambia’s early exit at Africa Cup of Nations.

Wilfried Ndidi (muscle), Abdul Fatawu (suspension), Harry Souttar and Kelechi Iheanacho (both international duty) remain absent.

Swansea have no fresh injury concerns to report after their ruthless 5-0 mauling at the hands of Bournemouth in their FA Cup exit.

Ben Cabango, Liam Walsh (both ankle), Josh Key, Sam Parker (both hamstring), Josh Ginnelly (Achilles), Jamal Lowe (knee) and Azeem Abdulai (unspecified) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Leicester entertain Swansea at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday 30 January at 7:45pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Sat comfortably top of the table, Leicester will feel confident of further extending their lead if can play as clinically as they did against Birmingham in their FA Cup win on Saturday, where regulars were wisely rested so I expect them to be back to their best here.

Swansea meanwhile must put that embarrassing first half display at Bournemouth behind them and regroup, because they just need a strong run and luck to get back into play-off contention and beating the leaders would be a perfect response.

Luke Williams’ Swans however don’t have a strong record at Leicester but with extra preparatory time, they really should push Leicester if can take their chances and avoid another defensive meltdown but I don’t see them getting the win.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Swansea

Result: Leicester 3-1 Swansea
