2023-24 Sky Bet Championship: Week 27 – Sunday

Relegation battling QPR host Championship Play-Off chasing Watford at Loftus Road.

Victory would see QPR climb to third-bottom and move to within two points of safety, whilst Watford can go eighth with a win.

Jack Colback could feature for QPR following his recovery from a muscle injury.

Chris Willock (knock) is a doubt but Ilias Chair, Steve Cook (both calf) and Rayan Kolli (leg) aren’t expected to feature.

Watford will be without Edo Kayembe after he returned from international duty for DR Congo with a calf injury.

Jamal Lewis (hamstring), Vakoun Bayo (suspension) and Jeremy Ngakia (ankle) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

QPR host Watford at Loftus Road on Sunday 14 January at 12pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

After suffering a tough FA Cup exit against Bournemouth from 2-0 up at half-time, QPR need to take heart from their attacking efforts but really cut out those defensive mistakes if want to push on in their bid for survival.

Watford meanwhile were lucky to avoid crashing out or being taken to a replay by Chesterfield with their late comeback win, although defending is their weak point with no clean sheets in 11 matches but they do still have strong attacking firepower in them to get results in recent weeks.

Loftus Road also has been a tricky place for Watford in recent seasons so I do expect this to be a closely-fought contest, but the Hornets should have enough attacking quality to edge this.

Prediction: QPR 1-2 Watford

Result: QPR 1-2 Watford
