Cian Shields has completed Hitech Pulse-Eight driver line-up for 2024 F3 season.
Shields’ move up to F3 comes after he enjoyed a successful EuroFormula Open campaign, where he finished as vice-champion behind Noel Leon – who is also graduating into F3 but with Van Amersfoort Racing.
During the campaign, Shields took four wins and six further podium finishes plus suffered just one non top-ten finish all season.
The 18 year-old Glasgow-born driver also tested for Hitech in the post-season tests and will now make the step up for a full season, which marks a new challenge for the Brit who drove for Hitech in GB3.
“I am excited to join Hitech in FIA F3 next year. It will be a new challenge for me, but one I am looking forward to. Having raced with the team in GB3 in 2022, I have every confidence that they will allow me to develop in my rookie season in the series.”
Hitech’s F3 Team Manager, Paul Bellringer added: “We are delighted to add Cian to our Formula 3 line-up for next season. We are confident in his ability, having raced with the team in GB3 last year and taking a win and podiums together. Here’s to a successful season ahead!”
Shields will partner fellow rookie, Martinius Stenshorne and returning driver – Luke Browning next season.
