PREMA have retained Oliver Bearman for the 2024 F2 season.

Bearman finished sixth in his rookie season with PREMA in F2 during which he took four wins in total with two Feature Race wins in Spain and Italy, plus victories in Azerbaijan Sprint and Feature Races on a weekend where he topped every session in Baku.

The 18 year-old also took three pole positions this season from which he converted his first two poles into victories in Azerbaijan and Spain, but a slow pit stop in Belgium denied him a third win from pole.

His dominance around the streets of Baku consequently saw him pick up the award for F2 Highlight of the Year during F2’s end of season ceremony earlier this month.

Speaking about his decision to stay with PREMA, Bearman commented: “I’m really happy to be joining PREMA Racing again in Formula 2. I’ve come a long way as a driver and as a person these two years thanks to them, and I’m excited to continue the work we have been doing into next season.”

PREMA Team Principal, Rene Rosin added: “It is great to have Ollie back with us for another year after the great seasons he had with us so far.

The way he adapted, improved, and developed is outstanding, and we cannot wait to see what this progress will take us further down the road.

“We also think that the experience he had this year will help him and the team in adapting to the new car. It’s definitely going to be an interesting and promising experience.”

This season also saw Bearman drive in two FP1 sessions for Haas in F1 in Mexico and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.

2024 will mark Bearman’s third season with PREMA after he drove for them in F3 in 2022, during which he took one win en-route to third in the standings.

Bearman next season will partner Mercedes junior, Andrea Kimi Antonelli who will bypass F3 and jump straight into F2, following his FRECA success this season.
