Martinius Stenshorne has graudated into F3 with Hitech GP for the 2024 season.
Stenshorne’s move comes after he finished runner-up in the 2023 Formula Regional Championship by Alpine (FRECA), during which he took five wins and six further podium finishes to finish 39 points behind eventual champion – Andrea Kimi Antonelli who has graduated to F2 for 2024.
The 18 year-old Norwegian is excited to make the step up as he explained: “I am looking forward to making the step up to FIA F3 with Hitech next season. I have every confidence that they will allow me to develop in my rookie season in the championship.”
Stenshorne has also set himself the target of fighting podiums from the start of the season as he added: “It will be a new challenge for me, however I am feeling eager to be fighting for the top spots from the get-go.”
Hitech’s F3 Team Manager, Paul Bellringer is “delighted” to sign Stenshorne after a positive post-season test.
“He showed great potential during testing and given his race-winning form in FRECA this year, we are confident that we will have an exciting and successful season together.”
Stenshorne won multiple titles during his karting career including 2017 WSK Masters Cup and Italian Championship in the 60 Mini Class, plus 2020 South Garda Winter Cup in the OKJ Class.
The Norwegian eventually made his single-seater debut in 2022 as he competed in the following F4 categories; UAE, Italian, ADAC and Spanish, with a best championship finish of seventh in Italian F4 in a year where he claimed three podiums in total across UAE and Italian competitions.
2023 saw Stenshorne join R-ace GP where he struggled in Formula Regional Middle-East before he enjoyed an excellent rookie season in FRECA, in which he also managed three poles on top of the aforementioned five wins and six further podium finishes.
Stenshorne will partner Luke Browning who is staying with the team for a second season with the pair to be joined by a yet unannounced teammate.
