When is Kick-Off?
Celtic host Feyenoord at Celtic Park in a 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday 13 December, live on TNT Sport 3 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Celtic have lost both of their two previous Champions League meetings against Feyenoord (L2).
- Feyenoord are visiting Celtic at Celtic Park for the first time in all UEFA competitions.
- Kyogo Furuhashi has scored in each of Celtic’s two home matches in this group (D1, L1).
- Igor Paixao has attempted more shots in the group stage than any other Feyenoord player (11).
Prediction
Having seen their unbeaten domestic start come to a shock end at Kilmarnock on Sunday in a game of two halves, where they wasted first-half chances despite taking the lead before going utterly toothless in the second half and played to Kilmarnock’s expectation rather than their own game.
Celtic therefore must put that game behind them with a strong reaction especilly after two decent home performances in this group, albeit of which both went unrewarded due to defensive mistakes but the pressure is off in this dead rubber game.
Feyenoord meanwhile have nothing to play for but are currently in strong domestic form and have had almost a full week to prepare unlike Celtic, although their European away form has been poor lately despite losing their two away games in this group by one goal margins.
Now if there isn’t a better chance for either team to end their European ruts then it is now and with Santiago Gimenez in hot form, you surely can’t go against Feyenoord nicking this if he isn’t rested here but Celtic should somehow try and snatch a draw on their home turf.
Prediction: Celtic 1-1 Feyenoord
Result: Celtic 2-1 Feynoord
