2023-24 Premier League: Week 15 – Wolves vs Burnley

Wolves welcome relegation battling Burnley to Molineux in a midweek Premier League clash.

Victory will see Wolves climb to 12th in the table, whilst Burnley can climb out of the relegation zone with a win, as long as Luton lose to Arsenal in the late kick-off.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Burnley in a 7:30pm GMT kick-off at Molineux on Tuesday 5 December, live on Amazon Prime in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves are winless in their last seven league meetings against Burnley (D3, L4).
  • Burnley have claimed six points in their last five visits to Wolves (W1, D3, L1).
  • Vincent Kompany’s Clarets have kept clean sheets in three of their last five visits to Wolves.
  • Lemina has scored in each of Wolves’ last two home matches (W1, D1).
  • All three of Josh Brownhill’s goals for Burnley this season have been scored in the league.

Prediction

Having cost themselves a chance of snatching a point at Arsenal through two pieces of awful defending in the opening 13 minutes, Wolves did well to not just implode with solid improvement throughout the game and a clinical consolatory goal.

I now would like to see them cut out their sluggish starts because that was the second game where they started poorly and conceded first, especially because this game is very winnable on their home turf if can avoid any silly mistakes at the back.

Burnley meanwhile clinically beat Sheffield Utd whose defence basically was there for the taking but that win is a confidence booster, yet I feel like they’ve to avoid defeat here if want to build momentum in their bid to stay up.

Wolves though won’t make this task easy for Vincent Kompany’s Clarets and will surely target Burnley’s vulnerable defence, but if the visitors can play with the same intensity as they did last weekend then I wouldn’t be surprised if they snatch something.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Burnley

Result: Wolves 1-0 Burnley
