Arsenal stay top of the Premier League in a thrilling matchweek packed with goals and red cards. 

Early first-half goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard proved enough for Arsenal to beat Wolves 2-1 to stay top, despite Matheus Cunha’s 86th minute consolatory goal for the visitors.

Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold struck late to rescue Liverpool a 4-3 home win over Fulham to go second, having twice led through Bernd Leno’s own-goal and Alexis Mac Allister whilst Harry Wilson, Kenny Tete and Bobby Reid netted for the Cottagers.

Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski produced a goal and assist each as Tottenham fought back to draw 3-3 at third-placed Manchester City in a topsy-turvy contest, during which Son netted an own-goal for City’s opening goal.

Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins twice pulled fourth-placed Aston Villa level in an eventual 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, after the Cherries twice led through Antoine Semenyo and Dominic Solanke.

Down in the relegation zone, Sheffield United dropped to rock bottom with Oli McBurnie red carded in a 5-0 loss at Burnley, as goals from Jay Rodriguez, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Zeki Amdouni, Luca Koleosho and Josh Brownhill lifted the Clarets to second-bottom.

Dwight McNeil’s 67th minute half-volley winner saw Everton beat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground to move up to third bottom.

Luton sit two points above the bottom three after Jacob Brown netted in an eventual 3-1 loss at Brentford, with Neal Maupay, Ben Mee and Shandon Baptiste on target for the Bees.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon converted Kieran Trippie’s 55th minute low cross to seal a 1-0 win which sent Newcastle sixth with a 1-0 win over Manchester United at St James’ Park.

Enzo Fernandez’s brace and Levi Colwill first goal against his former loan team saw ten-man Chelsea beat Brighton 3-2 at Stamford Bridge despite Conor Gallagher’s red card, whilst Facundo Buonanotte and Joao Pedro struck for Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls.

Finally, Odsonne Edouard cancelled out Mohammed Kudus’ goal as Crystal Palace fought back to draw 1-1 at West Ham.
