Sheffield Wednesday host Leicester City at Hillsborough in a huge match at opposite ends of the Championship table.
Victory would see Sheffield Wednesday stay bottom but move closer towards safety, whilst Leicester will stay top with at least a draw although defeat would be enough if Ipswich don’t beat Millwall by a large margin.
Team News
Josh Windass is suspended for Sheffield Wednesday after he picked up his fifth booking of the season in their 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City.
Michael Smith (unspecified) is unlikely to be fit but Mohamed Diaby (leg) remains absent.
Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-0 win over Watford, with only Callum Doyle (knee) ruled out.

Stat Attack
- Sheffield Wednesday have won three of their last five meetings against Leicester (W3, L2).
- Leicester have won two of their last six visits to Hillsborough (W2, L4).
- The winning team in the last seven meetings across all competitions at Hillsborough between Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester have scored two goals in each win, with the Owls winning four of those seven games to Leicester’s three wins.
- Sheffield Wednesday have kept clean sheets in two of their last three home matches (W1, D1, L1).
- Three of Leicester’s last five bookings in their last two away matches came after half time.
Prediction
Although this season has been a struggle, Sheffield Wednesday looked pretty solid against Birmingham but were undone by some sloppy defensive moments, espcially after they took the lead on the stroke of half-time but conceded in first-half injury time.
They now must build upon the positives and start to cut out their defensive mistakes if want to start turning their season around.
Leicester meanwhile overcame their blip prior to the international break with a clinical performance to beat Watford, yet they were quite sluggish in the first half but managed to find that sharp edge so I expect them to come here looking to continue that renewed momentum.
Hillsborough though hasn’t really been a happy hunting ground for the Foxes in recent visits but with such a contrast in quality, I can see them getting another win if can get at the Owls’ defence and control the game.
Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Leicester
Result: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Leicester
