Maini Joins Alpine Academy

F2 driver, Kush Maini has joined Alpine’s Academy Programme.

Maini currently sits 11th in the current drivers’ standings for Campos in his rookie F2 season in which he claimed a maiden podium in the Australian Sprint, and recorded ten further top-nine finishes plus qualifed seecond for the British Feature Race at Silverstone in his best Qualifying result.

Speaking about his chance to join Alpine’s Academy, Maini commented: “I am super excited to be joining the Alpine Academy. It’s a dream come true to be associated with a team like BWT Alpine F1 Team, where I can learn and grow to hopefully one day be ready to take the step into Formula 1.

“A massive thank you to Alpine for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

Alpine’s Interim Sporting Director, Julian Rouse added that the team are “happy” to sign Maini to their Academy, as he described the 23 year-old Indian driver as “a young talent who we believe has strong potential and will be a great asset to our driver development programme.”

Maini becomes the ninth member of the academy which currently boasts Maini’s F2 rivals, Jack Doohan and Victor Martins amongst its members alongside; Matheus Ferreira, Kean Nakamura-Berta, Abbie Pulling, Nikola Tsolov, Sophia Floersch and Gabriele Mini.
