Stat Attack
- This is Young Boys’s first-ever meeting against Man City in all UEFA competitions.
- Man City are playing away to Young Boys for the first time in their history.
- Man City have won just one of two previous meetings against Swiss opposition (W1, L1), with that defeat having came against Basel at home in March 2018.
- Three of City’s six goals in this Champions League camapign have been scored by Julian Alvarez.
- Young Boys have conceded first in each of their last two Champions League matches (D1, L1).
Prediction
Considered initially unlikely contenders to battle for qualification, Young Boys have proved that they’re no pushovers in their opening two group matches but they will need to raise their game because Man City will be tougher to beat than RB Leipzig or Red Star Belgrade were.
Man City meanwhile do look back to their best following a clinical win against Brighton which felt like the dominant City that we know, compared to the side which stuttered with one win in four games before the international break so hopefully it continues here.
In fact, I seriously don’t see Man City losing this but Young Boys might just give them a test if Pep Guardiola has one eye on this weekend’s Manchester derby.
Prediction: Young Boys 1-2 Manchester City
Result: Young Boys 1-3 Manchester City
