ITV have reclaimed UK TV broadcasting rights to England Men’s fixtures from Autumn 2024.
ITV lost their rights to England Men’s fixtures across 2022-24 seasons after they were unexpectedly outbid by Channel 4, but have subsequently agreed a fresh deal which will see them reclaim the rights from September 2024.
The deal will see ITV broacast England’s matches in UEFA Nations League, FIFA World Cup qualifiers and friendlies across a four-season cycle covering 2024-28.
England’s Euro 2028 qualifiers will also be included if their joint bid with the other British home nations fail, otherwise the Three Lions will instead play friendlies throughout the Qualification period which will too be broadcast live on ITV.
ITV’s Director of Sport, Niall Sloane is “delighted” that ITV have won back the rights to cover England Men’s National Team, in-turn keeping the coverage exclusively on free-to-air TV.
Sloan also iterated that ITV’s footballing presentation team who has covered UEFA Euros and World Cup in recent years are ready to take the broadcasting reins, as he commented: “We have an experienced team here who are looking forward to bringing viewers all the action and insight from England’s qualification campaigns in the coming years.”
This announcement ensures that ITV will have exclusive coverage of both England’s Men and Women teams from September 2024, although their rights to the Lionesses’ fixtures expires at the end of next season unless a fresh contract is agreed in due course.
