Manchester United have signed midfielder, Hinata Miyazawa from Mynavi Sendai for an undisclosed fee.
Miyazawa’s move to Utd comes after she claimed the Golden Boot at 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with five goals for Japan, who ultimately lost to Sweden in the Quarter-Finals.
United haven’t revealed details of Miyazawa’s contract but upon signing her contract, Miyazawa commented: “I am truly very happy to be part of this wonderful family and this great team. I am really looking forward to getting started and hope my style of play will excite our fans.”
Utd Women’s manager, Marc Skinner added that Miyazawa’s displays at the World Cup underlines that she at 23 years-old has “proven her qualities at the highest level.”
Skinner also addressed fans on what they can expect from Miyazawa as he continued: “As her Golden Boot win at this summer’s Women’s World Cup has shown, she will excite our fantastic fans with her direct style of play and her ability to find the most dangerous spaces.
“We cannot wait to see her develop even further within our playing squad.”
Utd’s Head of Women’s Football, Polly Bancroft meanwhile is “thriled” to sign Miyazawa whose “attacking quality speaks for itself.”
Miyazawa could make her competitive debut away at Aston Villa live on BBC on Sunday 1 October in a 12:30pm BST kick-off.
