2025-26 Premier League: Week 32 – Chelsea vs Man City

Chelsea continue to chase a top-five finish against Premier League title-chasing Manchester City.

Liam Rosenoir’s Blues will stay sixth regardless of the result but victory would put them one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool again.

Man City meanwhile can move to within six points of Arsenal with a win.

Team News

Benoit Badiashile could return for Chelsea after he missed their last three matches due to illness.

Enzo Fernandez (internal disciplinary), Reece James, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (both hamstring), Filip Jorgensen (groin), Trevoh Chalobah (ankle), Levi Colwill (ACL) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension) are still sidelined.

Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report following their FA Cup Quarter-Final win against Liverpool.

Ruben Dias (hamstring), John Stones (calf) and Josko Gvardiol (leg) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Chelsea host Man City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 12 April at 4:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Chelsea are winless in their last nine league meetings against Man City (D3, L6).
  • Man City are unbeaten in their last five league visits to Chelsea (W4, D1).
  • City have kept clean sheets in three of their last four visits to Chelsea except for a 4-4 draw in November 2023.
  • Liam Rosenoir’s Blues have won just one of their last six league matches (W1, D2, L3).
  • Man City are yet to lose away to London-based opposition this season (W3, D3).

Prediction

Having suffered a little rut before the international break, Chelsea certainly responded last weekend with a ruthless 7-0 demolition of Port Vale in their FA Cup Quarter-Final which surely has reignited their confidence, but this is a much stronger step up in opposition so more patience and composure will be needed.

Man City meanwhile seem to have found their domestic stride since their Manchester Derby defeat in mid-January which is very typical of them at this stage of the season, and more so given how they dismantled and clinically smashed both Arsenal and Liverpool in their last two matches in different cup competitions.

Confidence and momentum is therefore high in City’s squad and after Arsenal’s defeat to Bournemouth, they now must capitalise if want to go into their crunch meeting against the Gunners next Sunday with the psychological edge.

Chelsea though won’t make it easy after their dominant display against Port Vale but I do think that Man City will find a way through, even if they have to suffer at times against a likely spirited Chelsea attack.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Man City

Result: Chelsea 0-3 Man City
