Fulham have signed winger, Adama Traore on a free transfer.
Traore left Wolves upon expiry of his contract in June having scored 14 goals in 200 appearances across five seasons at Molineux, amidst various departures as Wolves looked to balance their finances to meet Financial Fair Play rules.
The ex Barcelona youth since continued disscussions with Wolves over a new contract which eventually proved futile, as he instead opted to join Fulham on a two-year contract until June 2025 with the club holding an option to extend for a further year.
Speaking to FFCtv about his move to the club and reuniting with Raul Jimenez who also left Wolves this summer for Craven Cottage, Traore commented: “Another chapter. I like the Club, I also have information from Raúl [Jimenéz], who seems to love the club.
“I’m excited and hungry to give 100 per cent here.”
Vice-Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Adama Traoré to Fulham Football Club. He’s an explosive and powerful winger with great pace, and he has tremendous experience in the Premier League.
“He’s a player with whom we are very familiar, and he’s been on the opposing side of our team on numerous occasions; I believe that he’ll be a great addition to Marco’s squad.”
Traore could make his debut for Fulham in their first home match of the season against West-London rivals, Brentford at 3pm BST on Saturday 19 August.
Traore began his career at Barcelona where he graduated through their youth academy and scored one goal in four appearances, before enjoying spells at Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wolves in recent years as well as a brief return to Barcelona on loan during 2021-22 season.
The 27 year-old winger also represents Spain internationally, although he failed to score in eight senior appearances when called up in 2020 and 2021 whilst at Wolves.
