Tottenham have been handed an away trip to Fulham in the Second Round of 2023-24 Carabao Cup.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs start their Carabao Cup campaign at this stage for the first time since 2005, but face a difficult London derby away to Marco Silva’s Fulham who will be looking to avoid another exit at this stage for a second consecutive season.

Chelsea are making their first appearance this century at this stage of the competition and will also face a London derby, as they host AFC Wimbledon at Stamford Bridge in the Southern Section.

Premier League’s Brentford will face a tricky away trip to Newport County with the latter club known for causing cupsets in recent seasons.

Luton are set to host Gillingham in their first home match of the season at Kenilworth Road, after their home match against Burnley in their league campaign was postponed due to ongoing rennovation works.

Across in the Northern Section, Tranmere Rovers will host Leicester City in a rematch of the 2000 Final, which the Foxes won 2-1 in the last League Cup Final to be played at the old Wembley Stadium.

Bolton will take on Middlesbrough at Toughsheet Community Stadium in a rematch of the 2004 Final, which Boro won 2-1 in Cardiff on that occasion.

Doncaster’s reward for upsetting Hull is a home tie against Sean Dyche’s Everton who will be looking to avoid becoming the Rovers’ latest scalp.

Last season’s semi-finalists, Nottingham Forest face Burnley at the City Ground in an all Premier League tie.

Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham will face his former team – Bradford City, who he took to the Final in 2012-13 season only to lose to Swansea at Wembley.

Ties will be played across 29-30 August with two ties televised live on Sky Sports.
