Stat Attack

  • Arsenal are unbeaten in five of their last seven meetings against Wolves (W4, D1, L2).
  • Wolves have won one of their last five visits to Arsenal (W1, D3, L1).
  • Both teams have scored in each of their last five meetings at the Emirates Stadium.
  • Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are looking to avoid going three consecutive league matches without a goal for the first time since August 2021.
  • Wolves have conceded 10 goals and scored just one goal in their last three matches away from Molineux (L3).

Prediction

With nothing left to play for, Mikel Arteta is in a lucky position where he can experiment with his Arsenal team here ahead of next season where they should look to build upon this season’s experience of fighting for the title.

Arteta’s immediate focus though has to be on finishing this campaign on a high and avoiding three consecutive defeats because his team were lacklustre in their loss at Forest, where they simply lacked much end product to an otherwise solid performance.

Wolves meanwhile are guaranteed to finish mid-table and given their poor away form at Arsenal plus in general across recent weeks, this game does feel like a free shot for them where they will surely have to do a lot of counter-attacking like in their draw against Everton last weekend.

Arteta’s Gunners though should have too much for Wolves if they can keep their heads up in order to end their season on a positive note, especially in front of home fans who will be hoping to head into the off-season buoyant about their prospects for next season.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Wolves

Result: Arsenal 5-0 Wolves
