Odegaard meanwhile has been involved in 22 goals for Arsenal, in which he scored 15 goals and created seven assists in 35 appearances.

Brighton and Newcastle have both picked up two nominations apiece in this category; with Argentina’s World Cup winner – Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo nominated for the Seagulls, whilst Sven Botman and Alexander Isak are in the running for Newcastle.

Man City’s Haaland rounds out the eight nominees in this category after becoming the record goalscorer in a single campaign with 36 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances.

Odegaard and Mac Allister meanwhile are only nominated by virtue of having been aged 23 when the season began on 5 August 2022.

Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola headlines the Manager of the Season shortlist, having guided his Cityzens to the top of the Premier League amidst a fierce title fight against Arsenal, and are now just one victory away from a fifth league title under the Spaniard’s reign.

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta is also shortlisted after turning his team into serious title challengers this season, despite suffering a late-season implosion to concede control of the title race to Man City.

Eddie Howe’s exploits at Newcastle United this season has earned him a nomination, having led the Magpies towards potential Champions League qualification after finishing only 11th last season.

Roberto De Zerbi and Unai Emery have picked up nominations following impressive results at Brighton and Aston Villa respectively, with both clubs fighting for European qualification despite neither manager having been in charge at the start of this season.

Fulham’s Marco Silva rounds out the managerial shortlist after guiding the Cottagers towards a top-ten finish, in their first campaign back in the Premier League after an one-season absence and having played over a third of this season without top scorer – Aleksandr Mitrovic.
