EFL have confirmed key dates for the 2023-24 season across second, third and fourth divisions, plus cup competitions.
Fixtures across Championship plus Leagues One & Two will be announced at 9am BST on Thursday 22 June, with the season commencing on weekend of 4-6 August ahead of the Premier League which doesn’t start their new campaign until one week later on weekend of 11-14 August.
Details of the final matchweek across all three divisions will be confirmed in due course with Leagues One and Two holding Play-Off Finals across 18 and 19 May 2024 at Wembley Stadium, London.
The Championship Play-Off Final will be held a week later on Sunday 26 May.
Next season will also mark the final year of Sky Sports’ existing contract, before a bumper broadcast deal commences in 2024-25 season for five years.
The opening round of next season’s Carabao Cup will be played across 8-9 August, with the Final at Wembley Stadium set for Sunday 25 February 2024 where Manchester United will be hoping to defend their title after beating Newcastle United in this season’s Final.
EFL Trophy will commence with the Group Stage across 5-6 September in which group matches will be played in international breaks, with the Final set for Sunday 7 April at Wembley although Bolton won’t defend their title if they win promotion to Championship.
