Millwall entertain Blackburn Rovers in the race for a Sky Bet Championship Play-Off spot.
Victory would see Millwall qualify for the play-offs whilst they could finish fifth if Coventry fail to beat Middlesbrough elsewhere.
Blackburn meanwhile must win if they want a chance of reaching the play-offs, although they also need Sunderland and West Brom to lose elsewhere in order to secure a play-off spot due to their inferior goal difference.
Team News
Millwall have no fresh injury concerns to report after their dramatic victory at Blackpool last weekend.
Murray Wallace (muscle) could return but Charlie Cresswell (eye) George Honeyman and Aidome Emakhu (both hamstring) remain absent.
Blackburn could welcome Sam Gallagher back into contention following his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Goalkeeper, Thomas Kaminski could also be available, having missed their 1-1 draw against Luton on Bank Holiday Monday, due to personal reasons.
John Buckley, Sam Barnes (both knee), Tyler Morton (foot) and Jack Vale (ankle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Millwall meet Blackburn at The Den in a 3pm BST kick-off on Bank Holiday Monday 8 May, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Millwall have won just one of their last 14 meetings against Blackburn (W1, D5, L8)
- Blackburn are unbeaten in five of their last six visits to Millwall (W2, D3, L1).
- Millwall have lost two of their last five meetings against Blackburn by a 2-1 result.
- Gary Rowett’s Lions have scored in just one of their last four home games (W1, D1, L2), which came in a 2-0 win over Preston in April 2023.
- Rovers are winless in their last eight matches (D5, L3).
Prediction
Knowing that only a win would realistically assure them of a play-off spot, Millwall have to snap their defensive rut after twice conceding two sloppy equalising goals at Blackpool because their attack otherwise was excellent in terms of intensity and quality.
Blackburn meanwhile are the outsiders because they must throw everything at this game to snatch a win and hope results elsewhere swing in their favour, yet their injury issues have held them back from their full potential but their strong away form against Millwall should motivate them.
I though just can’t see them sneaking into the play-offs because Millwall will have a fearsome home crowd to roar them on, which could well be crucial if Tom Bradshaw and Zian Flemming are on tune against Blackburn’s inefficient end product.
Prediction: Millwall 2-1 Blackburn
Result: Millwall 3-4 Blackburn
