Brentford face Newcastle United at Gtech Community Stadium in a huge clash in the race for European qualification.
Victory could see Brentford go seventh if Aston Villa lose elsewhere, whilst Newcastle could go third with a win if overtaken by Manchester United who are in action at lunchtime.
Team News

Frank Onyeka is set to return for Brentford after he missed their defeat at Manchester United with a hamstring injury.
Vitaly Janelt (knee) could also be in contention but Kristoffer Ajaer (calf) and Keane Lewis-Potter (knee) remain absent.
Newcastle have no fresh injury concerns to report after their stunning midweek victory at West Ham.
Miguel Almiron (thigh), Ryan Fraser (personal) and Emil Krafth (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Newcastle at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 8 April at 3pm BST, untelevised in UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford are winless in three previous Premier League meetings against Newcastle (D1, L2).
- Newcastle won 2-0 in their only previous Premier League visit to Brentford in February 2022 (W1).
- Both teams have scored in two of their three previous Premier League meetings.
- Mathias Jensen has scored in four of Brentford’s last five home matches (W3, D1), except for the Bees’ 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in mid-February.
- Alexander Isak has scored three goals in his last two away appearances for Newcastle (W2).
Prediction
With their top-four dreams now hanging by a thread after suffering a tough defeat at Man Utd, Brentford must now reset because their lack of first-half quality and poor marking cost them at Old Trafford, yet it will serve as a vital lesson coming into this tricky clash against Newcastle.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies though will arrive in West London on a high after mauling the Bees’ London rivals, West Ham in midweek, with a controlled high-quality attacking display complete with clinical end product and perfect defending.
This clash though will be much tougher for the visitors because Brentford are the draw specialists this season just ahead of Newcastle, so I do expect this to be close yet competitively entertaining but if there’s a winner then Newcastle would be the favourable guess.
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Newcastle
Result: Brentford 1-2 Newcastle
