Burnley welcome Fleetwood Town to Turf Moor in an all-EFL tie in the Fifth Round of 2022-23 FA Cup.
Victory would see Burnley qualify for the Quarter-Finals for the first time in 20 years, whilst Fleetwood are chasing a first Quarter-Final appearance in their FA Cup history.
Team News

Ian Maatsen is set to be ruled out for Burnley with a shoulder injury suffered during their 4-0 win over Huddersfield last weekend.
Jack Cork is suspended after he picked up yellow card bookings in both of their Fourth Round meetings against Ipswich, in which the Clarets prevailed in a replay.
Manuel Benson (ankle) and Jay Rodriguez (knock) are unlikely to return until after the international break, but Taylor Harwood-Bellis (foot) remains absent.
Fleetwood have no fresh injury concerns to report but Jayden Stockley is cup-tied after previously featuring for Charlton in this season’s competition.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host Fleetwood Town at Turf Moor in a 7:30pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday 1 March, broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and via BBC Red Button on TV.
Stat Attack
- This is Burnley’s first-ever competitive meeting against Fleetwood Town in all competitions.
- Fleetwood are playing away to Burnley for the first time across all competitions.
- Vincent Kompany’s Clarets have failed to keep a clean sheet in two home matches across all cup competitions this season (W2).
- Fleetwood have scored first in four of their five FA Cup matches this season, except for in the Third Round when they fought back to beat QPR 2-1 at home.
Prediction
Sat comfortably top of the Championship with a huge gap to the chasing pack, Burnley can afford to take this game seriously especially after a ruthlessly clinical demolition of Huddersfield last weekend.
Fleetwood meanwhile enter this match in good form with five clean sheets and five wins in their last six matches, so I do expect them to bring their best defensive game and possibly try to hit Burnley on the counter-attack which will be a huge ask.
Vincent Kompany’s Clarets though are in rampant form even if they have endured a scrappy couple of weeks lately, which I just can’t see grinding to a halt here unless Fleetwood dig deep and frustrate the hosts with a smash-and-grab winner but this won’t be an easy game given the form of both clubs.
Prediction: Burnley 2-0 Fleetwood Town
Result: Burnley 1-0 Fleetwood Town
