Campos have signed Australian racing driver, Hugh Barter for 2023 FIA F3 season.

Barter previously drove for Campos on the final two days of F3’s post-season test last season with a best overall classification of 24th on the timesheet on Day Two.

Last season also saw Barter finish as vice-champion for Campos in Spanish F4 and likewise for FFSA Academy in French F4 in a dual campaign across both series, during which he claimed 16 wins, 11 further podium finishes and 11 poles in total combined across both F4 categories.

Speaking about his graduation into F3 for this season where he will partner Christian Mansell, Barter commented that he is “very happy” to make the step up with Campos and is eager “to keep the relationship going after a strong season with them in Formula 4 so I look forward to it.”

Barter also acknowledged the support of his main sponsor, Platinum High Integrity Technologies Limited, whose support he feels has been crucial otherwise F3 “would not be possible.”

Campos Team Principal, Adrian Campos added that the Spanish team “are proud” to retain Barter after a successful 2022 season together in F4 with the Australian.

On how Barter can tackle the challenging step up to F3, Campos said: “The Formula 3 championship is yet a more difficult challenge but we feel confident as he is a very talented driver with excellent skills.

“We really hope he will be able to quickly learn with our support and experience in order to end the season fighting for top results.”

Unlike many Australian drivers who previouly competed in F3, Barter will get to race on home soil with the series set to jet off to Melbourne for the second round of the season across 31 March – 2 April in a new addition to the calendar.

Campos will announce the third and final driver in their F3 line-up in due course.
