Wolves welcome Liverpool to Molineux in a Third Round replay in 2022-23 FA Cup.
Having played out a 2-2 draw at Anfield in their original tie, Wolves and Liverpool now know that victory in this replay would set up a Fourth Round trip to Brighton live on ITV1 on Sunday 29 January.

Diego Costa again is a doubt for Wolves after he missed their last three matches in all competitions with a knock.
Boubacar Traore (unspecified), Chiquinho, Sasa Kalajdzic (both knee) and Pedro Neto (ankle) remain ruled out.
Liverpool could welcome Darwin Nunez back into contention after he missed their Premier League defeat at Brighton with a knock.
Stefan Bajcetic (hip) is a doubt but Virgil Van Dijk (hamstring), Arthur Melo (thigh), Luis Diaz (knee), Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota (both calf) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Wolves” replay against Liverpool will take place on Tuesday 17 January at 7:45pm GMT at Molineux, with the match selected for live broadcast on BBC One in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is the first FA Cup tie between Wolves and Liverpool to need a replay after seven previous ties between both teams were settled at the first attempt.
- Liverpool have won just one of five previous FA Cup matches against Wolves played at Molineux (W1, L4), which saw them prevail 2-0 in February 1923 in Second Round of 1922-23 FA Cup.
- Wolves have scored at least twice in five of their last six FA Cup meetings against Liverpool, except for a 2-1 loss at Anfield in Feburary 1952.
- Both teams have scored in each of their last six FA Cup meetings, with Wolves winning four of those fixtures to Liverpool’s one whilst their most recent clash finished 2-2.
- Wolves have scored first in each of their last three FA Cup meetings against Liverpool (W2, D1).
Prediction
Having contested an entertaining draw at Anfield just over a week ago in which they played with guts and spirit, Wolves certainly will need to repeat that quality here especially after a clinical home win over West Ham in the league on Saturday.
The prospect of another trip to Brighton in the space of a fortnight meanwhile is the last thing that Liverpool need on their mind after a disastrous visit at the weekend, where they simply lacked creativity, motivation and end product whilst their defence was ripped apart in the second half.
Another worry has to be the fact that since the turn of 2023, Liverpool have conceded three goals in two matches away from Anfield which shows how bad things are currently so Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will need a huge improvement if want to keep their title defence alive.
Both teams though will rotate their squads here in a busy month but Liverpool have the added complication consideration of a must-win league game at home to Chelsea on Saturday, so I am not expecting a full-strength team here.
Wolves however will certainly be fired up after late VAR drama at Anfield so will be eager to spring a cupset on a team that is out-of-form and winless in 2023, which could well be the difference if the hosts can play like they did first time round.
