Tottenham Hotspur have signed striker, Bethany England from Chelsea in a record transfer deal between WSL clubs.
Tottenham have paid around £250K including add-ons to sign England from Chelsea, which represents a record deal directly between two Women’s Super League (WSL) clubs.
Commenting upon her move to Spurs, England said: “I am excited to get going and obviously the club has got a lot of ambition so I am hoping I can add to that and hopefully help get the club to where it wants to be.”
England also took to Twitter where she spoke of her aim to help Spurs “write some history together!”

England’s move comes seven years after she joined Chelsea from Doncaster Rovers Belles, and has since gone on to help the Blues claim nine trophies in total, during which she scored 74 goals in 164 appearances across all competitions;

- 1 x Community Shield
England has also represented England where she has scored 11 goals in 21 international appearances, plus was part of the triumphant Lionesses’ squad at 2022 UEFA Women’s Euros on home soil despite failing to play a single minute during the tournament.
Paying tribute to England for her contributions at Chelsea, manager – Emma Hayes said: “Beth has given tremendous service to the club. She has contributed to all of our success over the past seven years and she leaves a winner and a Chelsea legend.
“We wish her the very best for the next stage of her career.”
Chelsea also issued their own statement on England’s departure in which they commented: “Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Bethany for her impeccable service to the club, and wish her every success in her future endeavours.”
