England Announce 2022 FIFA World Cup Squad Shirt Numbers

England have unveiled squad shirt numbers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Surprise call-ups, Callum Wilson and James Maddison have been handed squad shirt numbers 24 and 25 respectively, as they prepare for their first major tournaments for England, having both last featured in Autumn 2019.

Captain, Harry Kane has been handed squad shirt number 9 whilst his fellow forward; Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka plus Phil Foden will wear the number 7, 10, 11, 17 and 20 shirts.

In defence, Kyle Walker and Luke Shaw will wear number 2 and 3 shirts respectively, whilst their respective club teammates – John Stones and Harry Maguire will take the number 5 and 6 shirts.

Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier, Conor Coady, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben White will wear the number 12, 15, 16, 18 and 21 shirts respectively.

Declan Rice headlines the midfield shirt number after the West Ham midfielder was handed the number 4 shirt, ahead of Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Mason Mount, Jude Bellingham and Conor Gallagher who will take number 8, 14, 19, 22 and 26 shirts respectively.

Everton’s Jordan Pickford will wear the number 1 shirt as first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale, who will take shirt numbers 13 and 23 respectively.

England will kick off their World Cup campaign in Group B against Iran on Monday 21 November (1pm GMT), before facing USA on 25 November (7pm GMT) then Wales in their final group match on 29 November (7pm GMT).
