England have no fresh injury concerns to report following their friendly victory over USA on Friday (7 October) evening, although Georgia Stanway could be rested after struggling to recover quickly from Friday’s physical contest.

Jess Park is looking to to start against Czech Republic and earn her first international senior cap, having been named as an unused substitute against USA on Friday evening.

Czech Republic are also expected to have no fresh injury concerns following their 3-3 draw at home to Hungary on Friday evening.

How To Watch

ITV will broadcast the match live in the UK on Tuesday 11 October with coverage commencing at 7:30pm BST ahead of a 8pm BST kick-off.

Stat Attack

  • England are unbeaten in four previous meetings against Czech Republic in all competitions (W3, D1).
  • Czech Republic are yet to win away to England in all competitions (D1, L1).
  • England have kept just one clean sheet against Czech Republic – in a goalless draw in March 2008 in UEFA Euro 2009 Qualifying.
  • Five of Georgia Stanway’s 12 goals for England under Wiegman have been scored from the penalty spot.
  • Andrea Staskova has scored four goals in her last two appearances for Czech Republic.

Prediction

Although beating USA is an incredible achievement for England, there however remain some issues to work on from physicality in pace which was evident when outran on counterattacks, whilst their passes in possession were often sloppy but USA by chance were just as poor in their passes.

I therefore would like to see a tidier performance with more bravery – especially in playing long ball when clearing chances, as Mary Earps did seem reluctant to deliver long kicks in the opening minutes against USA which on another day could of been costly.

Czech Republic though won’t be no pushovers given their quality but the fact that they blew a 2-0 half-time lead against Hungary highights defensive issues, which England should look to exploit if they play at their attacking best.

I though do expect squad rotation from both teams but England have come a long way from their scrappy 3-2 win in November 2019, so I do expect a confident home win with a potential clean sheet if can tighten up at the back.

Prediction: England 2-0 Czech Republic
