2021-22 Premier League: Week 37 – Wolves vs Norwich

Wolves host Norwich City in a near dead rubber Premier League clash at Molineux.

Victory would see Wolves stay eighth but their top-seven hopes will all but mathematically be over if West Ham avoid defeat elsewhere, whereas Norwich can climb off the foot of the table with a win if Watford lose elsewhere.

Romain Saiss is ruled out for Wolves with a knee injury which forced him to miss Wednesday’s defeat at home to Manchester City.

Nelson Semedo (hamstring), Max Kilman (ankle) and Daniel Podence (foot) remain absent.

Norwich have no fresh injury concerns to report after Wednesday’s loss at Leicester.

Kenny McLean (toe), Josh Sargent (ankle), Ozan Kabak (hamstring), Christoph Zimmerman (groin), Andrew Omobamidele (back) and Adam Idah (knee) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Having been totally outclassed by Man City on Wednesday evening amidst wasted decent attacking chances, Wolves now need to deliver an immediate reaction if they’re to keep their faint hopes of a top-seven finish alive.

Norwich meanwhile are down but don’t seem to be mustering up any passion to finish this woeful season on a high, given how easily they’ve been outplayed by West Ham and Leicester in the last week although they didn’t help their cause by failing to take some nice opportunities at Leicester in midweek.

Now if we see more wasteful play from Norwich and Wolves can quickly put their midweek chaos behind them, I can see a home win coming without much challenge.

Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Norwich

Result: Wolves 1-1 Norwich
