2021-22 Premier League: Week 36 – Leicester vs Everton

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report after Thursday’s Europa Conference League defeat at AS Roma.

Ryan Bertrand and Wilfred Ndidi both remain absent with knee injuries.

Everton could welcome Andre Gomes back from a groin injury, whilst Donny van de Beek is unlikely to be risked following his own recovery from a groin injury as he continues to rebuild his match fitness.

Richarlison (cramp) is a slight doubt but Ben Godfrey (thigh), Nathan Patterson (ankle) and Andros Townsend (knee) remain absent.

Prediction

Following Thursday’s Europa Conference League exit which came about from a key set piece and a toothless overall performance, Leicester won’t be in Europe next season but they need to use the rest of this season to sort out their defensive fragilities and rebuild ready for the next campaign.

Everton meanwhile were clinical in last weekend’s home win over Chelsea with strong pressing throughout amidst excellent saves from Jordan Pickford in goal, yet their away form is poor and could well be decisive in determining their fate.

Frank Lampard though should look to ensure that Everton try and retain their pressing tactics from last weekend given the opportunities on offer here, especially given Leicester’s defensive issues but the Foxes’ attack is in a good place so a draw might well be on the cards again.

Prediction: Leicester 1-1 Everton

Result: Leicester 1-2 Everton
