West Ham and Rangers have discovered their opposition for the Quarter-Finals stage of 2021-22 UEFA Europa League.
David Moyes’ Hammers overturned an one goal deficit to stun six-time champions, Sevilla in the Round of 16, which has seen them secure a difficult Quarter-Final tie against Olympique Lyon with the first leg at home.
Should West Ham advance beyond the Quarter-Finals for the first time since finishing runners-up in 1975-76 UEFA Cup Winners Cup, they will face either Eintracht Frankfurt or Barcelona in a blockbuster semi-final showdown with the first leg at home.
If West Ham face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-final then it will be a repeat of their clash at the same stage in 1975-76 UEFA Cup Winners Cup, which the Hammers won 4-3 on aggregate after prevailing 3-1 at home in the second leg that season to reach the Final.
Rangers meanwhile will face Braga in their Quarter-Final tie with the first leg played away at Estadio Municipal, before Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Gers host the second leg at home at Ibrox.
If Rangers knock out Braga then a tricky semi-final against RB Leipzig or Atalanta await but with the second leg set to be played at Ibrox.
Quarter-Final ties will be played across two legs on 7 & 14 April 2022 respectively, with the semi-final ties also played over two legs scheduled for Thursday 28 April and 5 May.
The two finalists will then meet on Wednesday 18 May at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Seville, Spain in the Grand Final, with the winner being crowned 2021-22 UEFA Europa League champions.
