Fulham remain top of the Sky Bet Championship following a dramatic midweek round as the top three teams all dropped points.
Fulham saw their five-match unbeaten run at the summit of the Sky Bet Championship ended with a narrow defeat at West Bromwich Albion, as Callum Robinson struck a 64th minute winner from Karlan Grant’s interception of Antonee Robinson’s loose pass.
Bournemouth consequently cut their deficit over Fulham to 11 points after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Reading, in which Dominic Solanke’s eighth minute opener was cancelled out by Tom Ince’s late equaliser for the Royals.
Huddersfield slipped three points behind Bournemouth but stay third as their 17-match unbeaten run was ended in a 2-0 defeat at Millwall, as Benik Afobe struck twice for the tenth-placed Lions.
Second-half goals from Scott Wharton, Tyrhys Dolan and Sam Gallagher saw Blackburn regain fourth in a comeback 3-1 win over second-bottom Derby County at Ewood Park.
Luke Berry struck twice as Luton ran riot in a 4-0 home demolition of Preston North End to climb to fifth.
QPR round out the top six despite taking the lead through Andre Gray in the 40th minute, as second-half goals from Djed Spence, Ryan Yates and Brennan Johnson saw Nottingham Forest come from behind to win 3-1.
Down in the relegation zone, first-half goals from Carlton Morris and Michal Helik fired Barnsley to within two points of safety as the Tykes defeated Bristol City 2-0 at Oakwell.
Peterborough remain rock-bottom after losing 3-2 against Swansea as Michael Obafemi’s brace and Joel Piroe’s injury-time strike saw the Swans snatch victory, after Peterborough had initially came from behind to lead 2-1 with Sammie Szmodics providing a goal and assist.
Elsewhere, Middlesbrough improved to seventh after strikes from Aaron Connolly and Folarin Balogun fired Chris Wilder’s Boro to a 2-0 away win at Birmingham City, with the hosts finishing with 10 men after Kristian Pedersen was red carded in the 86th minute.
Coventry’s play-off hopes took a knock after suffering a 2-0 home loss against Hull, with the Tigers’ goals coming from Richard Smallwood and Ryan Longman.
Late first-half goals from Tommy Doyle and Jordan Hugill saw Cardiff come from behind to beat Stoke 2-1 at home, having initially fallen behind to Lewis Baker’s 23rd minute strike.
Finally, Sheffield United saw their play-off ambitions take a dent after the Blades were held to a goalless draw at Blackpool.
