Norwich City continue their battle for Premier League survival with a midweek home clash against Crystal Palace at Carrow Road.
Victory would see Norwich stay out of the relegation zone for another matchweek, whereas Palace could climb to tenth with a win if Aston Villa and Southampton fail to win elsewhere.
Team News
Ozan Kabak is ruled out for Norwich with an unspecified injury.
Josh Sargent is a doubt due to illness but Lukas Rupp (hamstring) could return.
Tim Krul (shoulder), Jakob Sorensen (knee) and Andrew Omobamidele (back) are ruled out.
Crystal Palace will have Wilfried Zaha back in contention after he was rested in Saturday’s FA Cup win over Hartlepool United due to returning from international duty just days before the match.
James Tomkins (unspecified) and James McArthur (hamstring) could also feature but Cheikhou Kouyate is likely to be rested, having only recently returned from a trophy-winning international duty for Senegal at 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
Stat Attack
- Norwich have claimed just two points from their last six Premier League meetings against Crystal Palace (D2, L4).
- Crystal Palace have won just one of their last four Premier League visits to Carrow Road (W1, D2, L1).
- Norwich have scored just one goal in their last four meetings against Palace (D1, L3).
- Teemu Pukki has fired 12 of his 31 shots onto target in the Premier League this season.
- Odsonne Edouard has been substituted in ten of his 19 league appearances for Palace this season.
Prediction
Having found form in their last two league games with more attacking energy and defensive solidity, Norwich were again impressive in Saturday’s FA Cup win over Wolves with aggressive attacking and a clinical headed winner.
Palace meanwhile were excellent against Hartlepool with fantastic attacking intensity and two clinical first half goals, yet were frustrated in the second half but their aim now should be to build on that performance here.
On that note, I am expecting a cracking contest with both teams going all out for the win because Norwich cannot let this new-found form slip, whereas Palace look comfortably safe in midfield so will be up for the fight with Zaha back in the team adding extra intensity.
A draw therefore would be a decent result otherwise I can see Palace winning this given their form against the Canaries.
Prediction: Norwich 1-1 Crystal Palace
Result: Norwich 1-1 Crystal Palace
