Across on his Twitter page, Pourchaire also confirmed that this season with ART GP will mark “one last challenge”, in a potential teaser that he could be graduating to F1 in 2023 potentially with Alfa Romeo.

ART GP Team Principal, Sebastien Philippe added that it made “sense” to retain Pourchaire following his ability to demonstrate “the range of his talents and there are many of them, both in individual terms and athletic ability.”

Philippe went on to praise the 18 year-old for his passion and has tipped Pourchaire for a title fight as he added: “His motivation and determination are in tune with that of ART Grand Prix and winter preparation is going well.

“When you know that you have all the assets on your side, there is only one thing you can aim for, the title!”
