Chelsea will meet Tottenham Hotspur in a cross-London derby whilst Arsenal face Liverpool following the Semi-Final draw for 2021-22 Carabao Cup.

This marks the second consecutive London derby for Chelsea and Tottenham in this season’s competition, after the pair knocked out Brentford and West Ham respectively in the Quarter-Finals.

Both teams have also contested three previous semi-finals in this competition of which they were all held across two legs, with Chelsea winning two of those three ties although the Blues did need penalties in their last tie at this stage in January 2019 to prevail after a 2-2 draw on aggregate.

Arsenal meanwhile will meet Liverpool in the other Semi-Final but lost their only previous Semi-Final encounter in this competition on a 2-1 aggregate result in February 1978, following a goalless draw at Highbury after Liverpool won the first leg at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have also met in each of last two seasons in this competition at Anfield, with both teams prevailing once apiece on penalties following respective 5-5 and 0-0 draws in the Fourth Round with the winner then losing in the Quarter-Finals.

First leg ties will be played across 4-5 January 2022 with the return leg scheduled a week later for 11-12 January, with the winners set to meet in the Grand Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 27 February.
