2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League Group Stage: Week Five – Mura vs Tottenham

Mura welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Stadion Ljudski vrt in their penultimate Group G match of 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League.

Mura are already eliminated from contention for the knockout stage and will stay bottom no matter what happens here, whereas Spurs could go top with a win if Vitesse beat Rennes elsewhere.

Ziga Skoflek is a doubt for Mura with an unspecified injury.

Tottenham will welcome Oliver Skipp back after the midfielder was suspended for Sunday’s Premier League win over Leeds.

Giovani Lo Celso (fitness) could return but Cristian Romero (hamstring) is still ruled out.

Prediction

With no wins to their name and elimination already confirmed, Mura can afford to come out and play without any pressure so it will be interesting to see how they approach this match especially with ten goals already conceded.

Tottenham meanwhile have work to do with no first-team regulars set to be rested here if they’re to improve following Sunday’s contrastable win over Leeds, which saw a dreadful first-half performance compared to a more disciplined aggressive second-half comeback.

Mura’s poor quality though will feel like a mask to Spurs’ various cracks because I can see another dominant result for Tottenham akin to the reverse leg in September, yet their away form in Europe isn’t exactly impressive so this might be tougher than expected.

Prediction: Mura 0-3 Tottenham

Result: Mura 2-1 Tottenham
