2021-22 Premier League: Week Ten – Leicester vs Arsenal

Leicester City welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium as the latest round of Premier League action get underway.

Victory would see Leicester climb to fifth ahead of the mid-afternoon kick-offs whereas Arsenal themselves can go fifth with a win and leapfrog the Foxes in the process.

Jamie Vardy is set to be available for Leicester after being rested in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup victory over Brighton.

Marc Albrighton (knock), Wilfred Ndidi (hamstring), James Justin (knee) and Wesley Fofana (leg) remain ruled out.

Arsenal could welcome Kiernan Tierney back into contention after he sat out Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win over Leeds with a bruised ankle.

Ben White, Pablo Mari and Martin Odegaard (all illness) are also set to feature but Granit Xhaka (knee) remains ruled out.

Prediction

After a rocky start to the season, Leicester seem to have found their groove in recent weeks, as evidenced by how clinical they were at Brentford last weekend in frustrating the Bees and taking their chances, although defending remains a huge concern with just three clean sheets this season in all competitions.

Arsenal meanwhile were excellent in their win over Aston Villa last weekend with strong attacking intensity especially from Emile Smith Rowe, so I am expecting them to come here looking to make a scrap of this given that they’re unbeaten in their last eight matches.

On that note, I am expecting goals here between two improved teams despite defensive issues still flaring up which makes a prediction difficult to call, yet I have a feeling that Arsenal should have enough for the win if they get the first goal.

Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Arsenal

Result: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal
