Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Odsonne Edouard from Celtic in a £14m deal on Deadline Day.
Edouard first joined Celtic on loan from PSG in 2017-18 season and impressed the Hoops to earn a permanent transfer in summer 2018, as he went on to score 88 goals in 179 appearances as well as five titles in total across his loan and permanent spells at Celtic Park.
Palace have confirmed that Edouard has signed a five-year contract until June 2026 and will wear the number 22 shirt, which coincidentally was his shirt number at Celtic.
Speaking to Palace TV about his switch to Selhurst Park, Edouard said: “I’m very happy to be here today. I can’t [wait] start to train with the team and to play for this club…”
The 23 year-old though has admitted that the Premier League will be a huge test of his talent as Palace currently sit 14th in the table, adding: “Scoring goals in the Premier League may be the biggest challenge in my career. But I’m confident in myself and my teammates to be successful.”
Palace will be Edouard’s third proper senior club after Celtic and Toulouse of which he scored just once in 17 appearances at the latter club, having never made a single senior appearance during his time at PSG.
Eagles’ Chairman, Steve Parish is delighted to secure Edouard’s services, commenting: “Chairman Steve Parish said: “Odsonne is a player of proven quality. He was a player in high demand and I’m delighted he chose to join Crystal Palace as another fantastic addition to our squad.”
Celtic took to Twitter to confirm Edouard’s move to Palace and wished him well for the future.
