2021-22 Sky Bet Championship: Week Three – Tuesday

Millwall welcome Fulham to The Den in Tuesday’s big 2021-22 Sky Bet Championship clash.

Victory could take Millwall into the top ten, whereas Fulham could stay top with victory unless Cardiff can outscore them to climb to the summit on goal difference ahead of QPR’s trip to Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening.

Mason Bennett remains ruled out for Millwall with an ankle injury suffered in pre-season and is Gary Rowett’s only definite absentee after Saturday’s draw against Blackburn Rovers.

Shaun Hutchinson is likely to miss out after suffering a quad injury which kept him out at the weekend.

Fulham will be without Harry Wilson after the winger was red carded in Saturday’s 5-1 victory at Huddersfield.

Tom Cairney, Terence Kongolo (both knee) and Harrison Reed (knock) are still absent.

Prediction

Having started this season with two 1-1 draws in the league despite scoring first in both matches courtesy of Jed Wallace, Millwall have certainly made a solid start and will certainly pose a stern test for Fulham but the Lions have to simply stop wasting chances if want a win here against tough opposition.

Fulham meanwhile had scrapped their way to a opening weekend draw against Middlesbrough, yet were absolutely clinical and relentless in a ruthless dismantling of Huddersfield’s defence, meaning that Millwall could have a difficult night if fail to score first.

Both teams however will certainly make rotational changes to their lineup given how congested this month’s fixture schedule is, especially for Millwall who are playing their fourth of six matches across all competitions in the opening three weeks of the season.

On that note, I expect to see a tough contest but unless Millwall stop wasting their shots, I can see Fulham winning this game even though they’re yet to keep a clean sheet.

Prediction: Millwall 1-2 Fulham

Result: Millwall 1-2 Fulham
