Alpine Launch ”Prost in the Paddock’ Podcast

Alpine have announced that a new podcast titled ‘Prost in the Paddock’ will be launched on Bastille Day, celebrating France’s single F1 World Champion – Alain Prost. 

In this new four episode audio series, Prost will speak ‘candidly and with sincerity’ about his racing career and various roles in the world of Formula One, as well as offer his thoughts on the sport’s evolution, rules and new generation of drivers.

All four episodes will contain different themes featuring ‘rare and never-been-heard-before anecdotes’ from Prost, offering his thoughts on his career choices, rivalries, performances as well as a look at F1’s evolution on both technological and human sides.

One particular snippet involves Prost speaking about his initial childhood dreams of becoming a footballer whereas his brother was into motorsport and managed to get Alain hooked, with the Frenchman never looking back as he experienced the same feeling throughout his motorsport career from karting to F1.

Episode one titled ‘ A life of motorsport’ however will be released as a two-parter on Wednesday 14 and 21 July 2021 across Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Deezer, Spotify, Amazon Music plus alternative platforms,

Here is the synopsis for the opening episode: Alain explains how a chance encounter with karting led to the birth of a vocation, which took hard work to pursue.

He recounts how he worked round the clock to race in karts, progressing through the ranks to make his race debut in F1 in Argentina in 1980, in front of race director Juan Manuel Fangio! He then moves onto discuss his first win, the disappointment of 1984 and compare his era with the current.

All four episodes will also be made available across Alpine’s social media platforms of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Episodes two to four will be released monthly from September to November on the following dates;

• Episode Two – 15 September
• Episode Three – 13 October
• Episode Four – 10 November
