Sky Sports Unveil First TV Selection for 2021-22 Sky Bet Championship

All three relegated clubs feature in Sky Sports’ 13 selected live matches throughout August from the 2021-22 season of Sky Bet Championship.

West Brom return to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League and will begin life under Valerien Ismael with a televised trip to Bournemouth on Friday 6 August in the season-opening match with kick-off confirmed for 7:45pm BST.

The Baggies have been selected a further two times as they host Sheffield United on Wednesday 18 August from 8pm BST as the two relegated teams collide at The Hawthorns, before visiting Peterborough United at London Road on Friday 27 August with kick-off at 7:45pm BST.

Peterborough meanwhile will celebrate their first home match in the second tier since 2013 live in front of the Sky Cameras as they prepare to host Derby County on Saturday 12 August at 12:30pm BST, although the Rams could still be relegated ahead of the new season commencing depending an disciplinary appeal.

Sheffield United will take on Birmingham City in their first home match back in the Championship since late April 2019, as the Blades participate in the first Saturday Night Football fixture of this season in any division on Saturday 7 August with kick-off scheduled for 8pm BST.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s Blades will then participate in another Saturday Night Football clash seven days later as they visit last season’s losing Play-Off finalists, Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in a 8pm BST kick-off.

Fulham on their return to the Championship after relegation from Premier League meanwhile will host Middlesbrough in the first of a double header on Sunday 8 August at 1:30pm BST, with Nottingham Forest’s trip to Coventry selected for the teatime slot at 4:30pm BST.

The Cottagers will then meet Millwall at The Den on Tuesday 17 August from 7:45pm, whilst Huddersfield’s home match against Preston North End will also be televised at the same time on an alternate channel.

Other highlights include Swansea’s trip to Bristol City in Friday Night Football on 20 August before QPR host Barnsley in the lunchtime match on Saturday 21 August, whilst the month’s televised action is set to conclude at Pride Park as Derby meet Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands Derby.
