Late goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane saw England stun Germany in a dramatic encounter at Wembley Stadium, in turn setting up a Quarter-Final encounter against Ukraine who beat Sweden later yesterday evening (29 June).

Several players have since taken to Twitter to celebrate their success, starting with Kane who thanked the nation for their ‘incredible’ support, whilst Sterling and Mason Mount echoed his thoughts.

Other players like Kyle Walker, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are simply keen to keep the winning momentum going, tweeting:

Jude Bellingham meanwhile celebrated his 18th Birthday yesterday with the best possible present despite coincidentally playing his club football in Germany for Borussia Dortmund.

Several ex England legends meanwhile took to Twitter post-match to share their thoughts on this historic achievement, beginning with Alan Shearer:

Ex Manchester United full-back, Gary Neville meanwhile tweeted his belief in manager, Gareth Southgate despite missing out on his outfield XI prediction by just one player – Kieran Trippier started ahead of Reece James.

Several of England’s Lionesses also piled in with praise across Twitter led by captain, Steph Houghton MBE.

Alex Greenwood however singled out Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish for the biggest praise out the entire Three Lions squad, tweeting:

We however should bear a thought for the England supporting F1 teams, drivers and media who were stuck out in Austria ahead of the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix weekend, with Williams’ George Russell leading the celebrations from Styria.

Haas’ German driver – Mick Schumacher marked the occasion with a barbecue which didn’t exactly go to plan as he found himself on the losing side, much to the pleasure of various members of his team despite taking it in excellent spirit.

Aston Martin meanwhile boasts a four-time German champion in Sebastian Vettel yet looked more excited about the free booze from their sponsor – Peroni Libera whilst watching the match, which originates from Italy yet ironically is actually in the other half of the draw.
