Spain welcome Poland to La Cartuja, Seville in a must-win Group E clash at Euro 2020.

Victory for Spain would put them top of Group E whereas Poland can go third with a win heading into Wednesday’s final Group E matches.

Sergio Busquets is set to return for Spain after recovering from Coronavirus and returning a negative tests, as Luis Enrique prepares to ring the changes in attack after Monday’s goalless draw against Sweden.

Poland will be without Grzegorz Krychowiak after he was sent off in Monday’s loss to Slovakia.

Stat Attack

  • This is Spain’s first meeting against Poland at a major tournament.
  • Spain have lost just one of ten previous clashes against Poland in all competitions (W8, D1, L1).
  • Poland have won just one of seven ‘away’ trips to Spain (W1, D1, L5).
  • Three of Spain’s seven draws this decade have finished goalless, whilst their other four draws all finished 1-1.
  • Poland have scored first in just two of their six matches in 2021 (W1, D3, L2).

Prediction

Spain certainly disappointed in their opener because despite their dominance, they just lacked any quality in their end product which was seriously worrying given the quality in this group, so I really do hope that we see a more attacking performance otherwise they could be facing an early elimination.

Poland meanwhile delivered a strong performance in their opener against Slovakia who just simply outplayed them, yet that performance should stand them in good stead here if face an angry Spanish team because they definitely have the pace to cause trouble when get on the attack but cannot to lose here.

On that note, both teams therefore simply need to go for it here given that failure to win could be hugely damaging for the qualification hopes of both sides, yet I can see an upset coming if Poland can ignore their poor away record in Spain and take their chances but a draw feels like it is on the cards.

Prediction: Spain 1-1 Poland

Result: Spain 1-1 Poland
