Ruben Dias headlines nine Premier League players who have been named in Portugal’s Euro 2020 squad, as they look to defend their title.

Dias has been called up following an impressive season for Manchester City in which he was crowned English Football Writers’ Player of the Year, with his teammates, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva also selected in the squad.

Wolves have had four of their Portuguese players selected with Rui Patricio set to be first-choice goalkeeper, whilst Nelson Semedo has been called up in the defensive selection with Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho amongst midfield options.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has also been named in the squad after scoring 28 goals for his club this season in all competitions.

Liverpool’s Diogo Jota has also been called up after netting 19 goals in total for club and country this season across all competitions.

Portugal will play warm-up friendlies against Spain and Israel on 4 and 9 June 2021 before beginning their Euro title defence in Group F, where they will take on Hungary in their opening game on 15 June.

The reigning champions will then meet Germany in a potentially crucial clash between facing France in their final Group F match, which coincidentally is a rematch of the Euro 2016 Final.

Here is Portugal’s 26-man squad in full.
