Nine Premier League Stars Selected in Belgium Euro 2020 Squad

Leicester’s FA Cup hero, Youri Tielemans is amongst nine Premier League stars to be called up for Belgium’s Euro 2020 squad. 

Tielemans who scored a stunning winner for Leicester in Saturday’s (15 May) FA Cup Final against Chelsea, has been selected for Belgium’s Euro squad alongside club teammates – Dennis Praet and Timothy Castagne.

Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke and Michy Batshuayi have been selected up front alongside Brighton’s Leandro Trossard amongst ten Premier League representatives for the Belgian Red Devils this summer.

Other Premier League stars called up by manager, Roberto Martinez include; Toby Alderweireld, Kevin De Bruyne and Leander Dendoncker.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund’s Axel Witsel has been recalled despite being snubbed for March’s World Cup Qualifiers, and likewise for Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard after injury kept them sidelined for last November’s international fixtures. #

Blackburn Rovers’ Thomas Kaminski has been named amongst 11 standby players, with ex Manchester United youngster – Adnan Januzaj amongst other names placed on the back-up roster.

Belgium will begin their campaign in Group B with an away clash against Russia in Saint Petersburg on 12 June (8pm UK Time), before visiting Denmark in Copenhagen on 17 June (5pm UK Time).

Martinez’s Red Devils will conclude their group campaign against Finland in Saint Petersburg on 21 June (8pm UK Time).
