2020-21 Premier League: Week 35 – Fulham vs Burnley

Fulham look to keep their faint survival hopes alive as they welcome Burnley to Craven Cottage in Monday Night Football.

Victory will see Fulham stay 18th but move to within six points of safety which Burnley currently occupy, with Sean Dyche’s Clarets knowing that a win will seal survival and condemn the Cottagers to relegation.

Tom Cairney is unlikely to be risked for Fulham unless club doctors deem him fully fit following a lengthy period sidelined with a knee injury.

Harrison Reed (knock) is a doubt but Terence Kongolo (knee) is still absent.

Burnley could be without Dale Stephens who has suffered a knock but the midfielder has managed to train in recent days.

Robbie Brady (Achilles) and Kevin Long (calf) remain absent.

Prediction

Fulham will definitely be disappointed to have suffered defeat at Chelsea last weekend after enjoying a strong overall performance, yet a mixture of poor man-marking and finishing proved costly to leave them needing a win to keep their survival dreams alive.

Burnley meanwhile delivered a solid defensive display against a dominant West Ham despite conceding 22 shots and having briefly claimed the lead, so I am hoping that they continue their improvement with another strong showing given their quality.

Fulham however know that they simply need to win here so I can see them coming out and giving it everything but if Burnley can soak up the pressure, they should have enough to win this like they did in the Fourth Round of this season’s FA Cup in January.

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Burnley

Result: Fulham 0-2 Burnley (Fulham are RELEGATED!!!)
