Manchester United missed a huge chance to reignite their title challenge in the latest round of Premier League action.

League leaders, Manchester City weren’t in action this weekend as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the 2020-21 Carabao Cup Final, with Aymeric Laporte heading in a late header to clinch a fourth consecutive title for City.

Manchester United however missed an opportunity to cut their deficit to their cross-city rivals after finding themselves held to a goalless draw at Leeds United.

Comeback second half strikes from Timothy Castagne and Kelechi Iheanacho saw Leicester come from behind to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1, after Wilfried Zaha had initially put the Eagles ahead from Ebrechi Eze’s through ball.

Timo Werner’s 43rd minute strike from Ben Chilwell’s low cross proved enough for Chelsea to stay fourth, after claiming a narrow win at West Ham as the hosts saw Fabian Balbuena sent off late on for a controversial foul on Chilwell.

Down in the relegation zone, David McGoldrick struck a 19th minute winner as already relegated Sheffield United scrapped their way to victory over Brighton at Bramall Lane in Saturday Night Football.

West Brom sit nine points from safety after holding Aston Villa to a 2-2 away draw at Villa Park, as Matheus Pereira’s penalty and Tyrone Mings’ own goal gave the Baggies the lead in-between goals from Anwar El Ghazi and Keinan Davis for the hosts.

Fulham weren’t in action this weekend but fell seven points from safety as Brighton slipped to 17th, following Burnley’s four goal mauling of Wolves as Chris Wood grabbed his first Premier League hattrick in the Clarets’ first win at Molineux since 1973.

Elsewhere, Everton stayed eighth but moved closer to the top seven after snatching their first away win at Arsenal since January 1996, as Bernd Leno spilled Richarlison’s shot in under his own legs amidst fan protests outside.

Finally, Joe Willock struck a 95th minute equaliser as Newcastle snatched a point at Liverpool after Mohamed Salah gave Jurgen Klopp’s Reds a third minute lead.
