2020-21 Premier League: Week 33 – Wolves v Burnley

Wolves welcome relegation battling Burnley to Molineux live on BBC One in the first of three Super Sunday clashes.

Victory would see Wolves stay 12th but move level on 44 points with Aston Villa, whereas Burnley can go 16th with a win.

Ruben Neves is set to be in contention for Wolves after recovering from Coronavirus.

Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee), Fernando Marcal (groin) and Raul Jimenez (head) remain ruled out.

Burnley could welcome Nick Pope back after he missed their last two matches with a shoulder injury.

Kevin Long (calf), Robbie Brady (Achilles) and Ashley Barnes (thigh) remain ruled out.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Wolves have made considerable defensive improvements in their last two matches to keep clean sheets, yet they often continue to lack end product up front because they often waste more chances than they have managed to score this season.

Burnley meanwhile delivered a strong counter-attack strategy at Manchester United last Sunday, yet were eventually defensively pulled apart which cost them at least a point but I think we will see a more attacking approach given the contrast in opposition.

It is also worth noting that BBC’s picks have rarely been a disappointment so I certainly can see goals coming here, although a draw would be a strong bet because Burnley are a good all-round team who are in good goal scoring form.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Burnley

Result: Wolves 0-4 Burnley
