Millwall welcome Bournemouth to The Den in Wednesday’s stand-out Sky Bet Championship match.
Victory would see Millwall climb to eighth, whereas Bournemouth can go third with a win.
Team News
Mason Bennett is a doubt for Millwall with a calf strain and faces a late fitness test.
Shane Ferguson (groin) and Murray Wallace (knee) are doubts with the pair potentially joining; Shaun Hutchinson, Kenneth Zohore (both calf) , Ryan Leonard (ankle), Ben Thompson (hamstring) and Matt Smith (foot) on the sidelines
Bournemouth could be without Shane Long for a third consecutive match as the result of an adductor injury.
Lewis Cook remains ruled out with a knee injury.
Stat Attack
- Millwall are unbeaten in three of their last five Championship meetings against Bournemouth (W1, D2, L2).
- Bournemouth have won two of their last five league trips to Millwall (W2, L3).
- Gary Rowett’s Lions have scored just four goals in their last five home games (W3, L2).
- Arnaut Danjuma has scored in three of Bournemouth’s last four away matches, with two of his three goals coming after half time.
- Millwall have won their only previous home game refereed by Keith Stroud this season, defeating Preston 2-1 in early March.
Prediction
Having dug deep in a defensive display to snatch a goalless draw at Brentford on Saturday, Millwall need to deliver another robust performance because Bournemouth will certainly provide them with a lot of chasing with their creative high tempo play.
Jonathan Woodgate’s Cherries however did have to fight back to defeat Norwich on Saturday evening albeit aided by a red card for the Canaries, yet they will come here full of confidence knowing that the Lions’ form lately has been inconsistent.
Now with that in mind, this could be a good contest but I think Bournemouth will have enough for a routine win without conceding.
Prediction: Millwall 0-2 Bournemouth
